Besides guns, it can be used on items such as iron railings, barbeque grills, automobiles, patio furniture, tools, antiques, mailboxes, lawn mowers, bicycles and lamp posts.

HOW TO USE:

  • Prepare the metal surface removing loose rust & dirt and cleaning off any grease or oil.

  • Apply in temperatures between 50 to 90 degrees F (10 to 32 degrees C).

  • In a well-ventilated area wearing rubber/plastic gloves and safety glasses, brush Loctite Naval Jelly on liberally.

  • Work the rust treatment into pitted areas.  Leave on 5 to 10 minutes.

  • The Loctite should NOT remain on a surface for more than 15 minutes.  If product is left on too long and hardens, apply more Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver to remove.

  • Rinse off with fresh water.  Repeat if any rust remains.

  • Protect the metal surface from further rusting. Loctite does NOT provide long term protection of surfaces to prevent the recurrence of rust.  Unless re-bluing a firearm right away, apply a rust preventive oil like Clenzoil to    prevent oxidation.  For other items, protect with a clear coating or prime & paint within 24 hours.

CAUTION:

If it comes in contact with painted surfaces, wipe it off IMMEDIATELY as Loctite will remove paint.  Loctite is NOT compatible with latex topcoats.

HOW TO STORE & DISPOSE:

Store Loctite in a cool dry place and avoid freezing. Use an approved hazardous waste facility for disposal.
